Timothy Hornyak lovingly described the historical relationship between Japanese people and robots in his talk “Loving the Machine.”  Also  attending were Mark Schreiber, Peter Tasker,



Roland Kelts and a dancing robot. Timothy is pictured below. 


The talk was also attended by August, (aged 10) who enthusiastically asked questions.

On 19 August, BOOK-CLUB members will discuss: Jihad: The Rise of Militant Islam in Central Asia by Ahmed Rashid.
On 9 September, members of our Non-Native Speakers’ group will discuss The Quiet American by Graham Greene.     

Craig McLachlan, author of several books on hiking in Japan,  dropped in on the Non-Native Speakers’ group on 5 Aug.
