Conan the Librarian Says:

Unexpected telephone enquiry:

 “Do you sell washing machines?”
“Um, no we sell books.”
“Isn’t this a recycle shop?”

Unusual e-mail enquiry:

One person in Germany wanted us to send him a readily available novel which we had in stock, but would have cost far more to send than to buy.  He asked where else he could get it.  Perhaps his enquiry would be better directed to a nearer nation, like England?

Unexpected Advice:

Etiquette 101: A customer warned us that “we should wait until she has left before exchanging glances, because it is very rude.” Here’s looking at you kid!

Thought of the month:

Writing is nothing more than a guided dream.
Jorge Luis Borges
