Conan the Librarian says:
Hello from Hanoi

Conan notes some changes since the last time he was in Vietnam’s capital city.  The motorbike noise still annoys, and beeping of horns is still an essential part of driving, but the Burberry helmets riders now sport add some panache to the streets.
The owner of the Bookworm, Hanoi’s used bookstore of choice told me the store will be moving to another location at the end of this month.

Conan also visited the Vietnam National Library, a place where it is necessary to show a passport to enter. One also needs to show a passport to take a book off the shelves and read it.

Conan’s time in Vietnam was not only spent reading books. He also managed to climb Mt. Fansipan, the easternmost Himalayan mountain, and spend some time with the Black Hmong, a mountain tribe.
