Donald  Keene delivered a polished talk which was very well received.

Among the highlights of Professor Keene’s talk were tales of spending time with Yukio Mishima during his last days and the popularity of Shiba Ryotaro in Japan.  Professor Keene inspired an attendee to e-mail us after his autobiographical talk, calling it ‘splendid.’ Another called the evening ‘unforgettable.’ Continuing, he said an ‘informed audience’ in a small venue was ‘a real treat.’
